Agency accounts

Build and run apps for your clients, each in a business of its own.

Plans: Agency

What you get

  • A separate business for each client
  • Each client business on Team, billed to the agency's card
  • The first client free for its first month
  • 20% back once a client pays for itself
  • One business switcher for every business you belong to
  • Clients keep their people and data if billing stops

How it works

A business on a paid plan can act as an agency. An owner or billing contact adds a client business on the billing page with the client's name and contact email. It is on Team, billed to the agency's card from that day. The first client business can be free for its first month, with the card taken when it is added.

Each client business has its own apps, people, data, domains and audit log. The person who adds it is its owner and can invite the client's staff with roles of their own, through team sign-in. The business switcher in the dashboard moves between the agency and each client.

When the work is done, the agency hands the business over with a link, stays on as developers, and the client can take over paying. Once it does, the agency earns 20% of what it pays, off the agency's own bill first. If the agency stops paying for a client business, it moves to the Free plan that day with its people and data intact. Each client's use is measured on its own, as described under usage and allowances. The agency page explains how to start.

Example

A small IT consultancy builds a job sheet app for an electrical contractor and a stock portal for a building supplier. Each client is its own business on Whisk, so their staff and data never mix. The consultancy's developers switch between them from one sign-in.

For your coding agent

whisk login --profile <client>
whisk deploy --profile <client>

A token belongs to one business, so the agent logs in once per client. The person approving picks that client business on the approval page. Setting WHISK_PROFILE does the same as the flag; see the CLI reference.
