Error tracking

Errors grouped, counted and marked resolved, from any Sentry SDK.

Built on GlitchTip

Plans: Every plan, including the free app

What you get

  • Errors grouped by cause and counted
  • The stack trace for each group
  • How many people each error affected
  • When each error was last seen
  • Resolve or ignore a group
  • Works with any Sentry SDK

How it works

Every app gets a SENTRY_DSN in its environment. Any Sentry SDK, in any language, sends errors to it, and every Whisk template already sets one up.

Errors are stored in GlitchTip, an open-source error tracker that accepts the Sentry format. Whisk groups repeats of the same error and shows each group with its count, the people affected and a stack trace. No separate account is needed.

Mark a group resolved once it is fixed, or ignore it. Your coding agent reads the same list with whisk errors, so it can find and fix a problem without a screenshot. For the lines around an error, use log search.

Example

An electrical contractor's job sheet app starts failing when some electricians upload site photos. The error group shows four people affected and a stack trace pointing at the upload code. The developer's agent fixes it and marks the group resolved.

For your coding agent

whisk errors --since 24h
whisk errors --resolve <group id>

The app initialises its Sentry SDK with SENTRY_DSN, listed in the environment reference.
