Whisk vs Lovable's own hosting

Lovable is an AI app builder that you use in your browser. You describe an app in a chat and it builds it. Its own hosting, Lovable Cloud, can put the app online with a database and logins.

Whisk runs apps that your AI coding assistant writes. It includes logins for your team and your customers, a database, backups, scheduled jobs and workflows.

For trying out an idea, or an early version for customers, Lovable on its own is a quick way to start. For tools your team relies on every day, Whisk gives you a flat price per app and more control over who gets in.

They work together

You don't have to choose one. You can build the first version in Lovable, where seeing changes as you chat is fast, then move it to Whisk when the team starts relying on it. Lovable keeps your code in your own GitHub repository, so your AI coding assistant can pick it up from there. Our guide shows how: put an app you built with Lovable online for your team.

Where Lovable's hosting is enough

  • You don't use a coding assistant and want to go from idea to working app in the browser.
  • It's a prototype, a landing page or an early product for the public, and speed matters more than anything else.
  • The app is small enough that hosting fits within your plan's credits.

Where Whisk fits better

  • The app holds your team's or your clients' information, and only the right people should get in.
  • You'd like one flat price that doesn't change with how busy the app is. Lovable's Pro plan is $25 a month; Whisk's Starter is $49 for 10 apps, and one app is free.
  • The app needs to run things on a schedule, or wait for someone's approval, reliably.
  • You're running several tools and want them all in one place, with one login.
